Date Night

Saturday we had a much needed date night with our best friends Aimee and Steve.  Our first stop was the Twins game!  Thank you Aimee for getting us AWESOME seats!  It was my first time to Target Field and I loved it.  What a great place to watch baseball!  I was never a fan of watching baseball at the Metrodome.
We were in the dugout section row 10!

We ran into some other friends.  Andy, Angie and Julia while we were having dinner.  Than Nate's cousin's Krista and her boyfriend Adam ran into us too.  It was a great night for baseball!

Watching the game!

Almost a full moon rising!

After the game and having no responsibility for children until the next day we headed out on the town.  Our first stop was Cowboy Jacks, than The Shout House (where we spent the majority of the evening), we were feeling hungry so we stopped at the Newsroom for some "Canadian Nacho's".  Our last stop was at Brits before heading back to our hotel room at the Hilton.

Thanks Aimee and Steve for a great night with great friends.  Can't wait to do this again soon.

Waverly Days!

We spent another weekend in Waverly to enjoy all the festivities that Waverly Days has to offer.  We watched fireworks on Friday from the Eggiman's beach.  Saturday was full of a 5K, softball, and a band.  Sunday we watched a parade and played in the waterball tournament.

Aimee and I started the day running the Cannonball 5K.  This was my first 5K.  I ran the first mile and than did a run/walk for the remaining 2.2 miles.  I didn't have a very fast time, but came in at 37.10 minutes.  I am still proud of myself for finishing!

The kids enjoying a snow cone and watching their dad's play softball.

Kiddie parade!

Kaitlyn wasn't very excited about my picture taking!

Getting ready to walk in the kiddie parade.
After a long day at the park on Saturday... Ashlynn and Gavin were ready to go home.
Pretending to sleep after a long day.

A funny story that we weren't able to capture in a photo:

Kaylee and Kaitlyn enjoyed a swim in the lake in their clothes after being told not to get wet.  We told the girls that they may need to walk or swim home because they couldn't ride in the truck in wet clothes.  Kaitlyn seemed pretty concerned about this and stated that it was too far to walk or swim and thought of a great plan.  Someone drives to Aimee and Steve's to get the boat and then they could ride in the boat home.  Not a bad idea for a almost 6 year old.  After a few hours of them sitting in wet clothes at dusk, we ran home and got them some dry clothes to change into.  Hopefully the girls learned to listen to their parents!

Waterball!

We were introduced to a new sporting event.  Waterball!  This event is a competition between 2 teams of 2-4 people who use a fire house to shoot water at a barrel that is attached to a wire.  The goals is to push the barrel to the opposite side using water.  I joined the Waverly women's team and we ended up in 2nd place!  Nate and Steve were on a guys team, but they finished competing by the time we arrived with the kids so I don't have any pictures of the guys.

Ashley and Niki did an amazing job winning to get 2nd place in the tournament.
The kids tried waterball!  Once the water started to hit them they jumped ship!

Getting ready!

After the waterball tournament was during Delano's 4th of July celebration after the competition we headed to the little carnival for some rides.
Gavin's first carnival ride.  We thought the boat just went back and forth, but it actually twisted and turned... but Gavin had a great time!

Kaitlyn's turn!

Gavin excited to ride the tractors with Ashlynn.

But after the ride started he wasn't as excited.

McEggiman's 4th of July Weekend

I can't believe the 4th of July is already over... Summer seemed to take forever to get here and now it feels like it is going way to fast!  Maybe summer will last longer this year since it came so late.  One could only hope.

We headed over to the Eggiman's on Wednesday... we brought our camper and boat and set-up camp in their driveway!  (Thank you Steve and Aimee for allowing us to invade your home for the long weekend.)

Here is our Holiday weekend in pictures....
On the 4th we headed over to Aunty Linda and Uncle Paul's house for the 2nd annual Lindquist 4th of July celebration!
