Kaitlyn's 6th Birthday Party

How can my little girl be 6 years old already?  The saying the days are long, but the years are short is so true!  I also can't believe she is starting first grade in a few weeks!

Kaitlyn's Birthday party this year was a pool party!  I was a little nervous that we wouldn't have warm enough weather for a pool party and that the pool would be too cold!  Well, I was wrong... The entire week before her party the temps were in the nineties and her actual party was 95 degrees with 70% humidity.  Perfect pool weather if you ask me.

We even had a little pool for the younger crowd.

Kaitlyn and Ashlynn.. wish I had better lighting for this one!

Kaitlyn's new boots from Grandma and Grandpa McNeilly

I made this cake and was pretty impressed with myself since I am not a baker.  Jennifer Jackson did give me a great tip for next time!

Her new scooter she was asking for.  Thank you Aunty Anny, Uncle Randy, and Brady!

Her new outfit to match her American Girl Doll Outfit!

Kamp Dels Vacation Part 2

Kamp Dels is a great campground to spend a weeks vacation.  There is always something to do.  Unfortunately, on Wednesday morning Kaitlyn came down with what we thought was Strep.  Nate ended up having to go back home to do some work so he took Kaitlyn with him to get checked out.  Her Strep test came back negative, so we just knew we had to wait it out.  We were hoping it would only last a day or two.
Kaitlyn normally sleeps on the top bunk in the back bedroom of the camper, but since she was sick she got to sleep on the couch with Cody.
Our annual family picture!  Thank you to Sara Lueth for taking these for us!

Our friends Dann, Sara, Liesel, and Ingrid came to hang out for a few days during our vacation.  It was fun to hang out at the pool and camp fire!

Kamp Dels has a great waterpark and pool with diving boards.  We spent time here everyday!

"What Mom?"

Jumping from the big diving board!

Swimming Lessons at Foss are really starting to pay off now!

Teaching Kaitlyn to dive!

This was the only time she would let Daddy help her.  I guess we will keep practicing!

Last year when we were getting ready to leave we biked around the campground in search for the perfect campsite for next years vacation.  We picked campsite number 211 because it was big and had descent shade during the day.

Our view of the lake when siting by the fire.

Our campfire!

We had a great vacation even with the little virus that plagued our family for a few days!  We can't wait for next year!

McNeilly Summer Vacation at Kamp Dels

We headed to Kamp Dels again this year for our weekly family vacation.  We headed down on Friday and spend the first weekend with Nate's family.  Each week Kamp Dels has a theme and it was Easter week that weekend.
All the cousins.  There were 4 people taking pictures so it was hard to get a good shot of all them.
Best Buds!  Gavin and Gibson have really started to play together.  I see them being best friends!

Saturday there was a big Easter Egg hunt.  I think there was about 1800 eggs for all the kids to find.  It was pretty chaotic so I only got a few pictures.
Darren and Gavin looking for more eggs.
For Christmas Bopapa gave Gavin a Strider Balance Bike.  It's the newest bike for toddlers that has NO pedals and teaches them balance.  Gavin really had no interest in his bike until vacation.
 Gavin biking on our walk.

We bought them bells for their bikes.  Gavin would stop ring the bell and than start going again.

On Sunday everyone left and we were able to spend a few days enjoying all the activities that Kamp Dels has to offer.  Oh and it was Halloween week!!!
Gavin enjoying one of the 3 parks at Kamp Dels.

One of the highlights at Kamp Dels is Pony rides around the campground.  This year Gavin got to go.  He did pretty good.  He just didn't like me taking pictures.

A few times Gavin wanted to hold my hand during his pony ride.
Kaitlyn was upset she couldn't ride the "big" horses, but Kamp Dels requires them to be at least 10 to do the trail ride.

Kamp Dels also has a petty zoo that Kaitlyn and Gavin visited everyday to feed the animals.

Since I am the main photographer in the family, I get left out of a lot of pictures.  Here is our attempt to get a picture of Mommy with her babies.
No one was interested in taking a picture with mommy!

On Tuesday my Sister Anny and nephew Brady came to down to visit for the day.

 Going on a bike ride!

Halloween week at Kamp Dels continues.  We got to make edible spiders.  Brady ate his before we could finish making it.

"Scary Spider"

The finished spider before it was eaten!  I don't think it made it back to the camper.

Kaitlyn won the coloring contest for her age range!

To be continued into the next post.....
