Angie and Russ's Wedding in Santa Rosa Beach Florida

We headed to the amazing Watercolor Resort and Spa to celebrate the marriage of our friends Angie and Russ.  The weather was HOT and HUMID.  We spent most our time in the gulf or the pool.  We also enjoyed our rental cars air conditioned seats too!  Who knew they would make that big of a difference, but when it is 95 degrees with 90% humidity they are much appreciated.  We headed out on Friday for a quick trip.
Getting ready to take off!!!
View from our ocean side room.  Our room was amazing but very expensive!

Pina Colada's are amazing when it's hot out!

Reception!

Sunday before we headed to the airport we stopped in Destin as we heard the beaches were amazing! They were!

Our last adult beverage before heading to the airport.  If we could have predicted the future we should have known that we could have stayed for more as our plane was delayed several hours.

As we were on our way to the airport we rec'd a text from our airline that our plane was delayed for 2 hours.  This wasn't great news because it's Sunday (we have to work in the morning), we are at a very small regional airport, we have a connecting flight out of Atlanta, and it's after 5 pm.  We decided to still head to the airport in hopes that we can still make our connecting flight home or we can get on a different flight home.  Of course we miss our flight home in Atlanta by 30 minutes... so we are put on stand by for the very last flight to leave Atlanta to MSP at 10:30pm.  When we were waiting for our flight in Florida a nice passenger gave us some tips on what to do in Atlanta.  He told us to find someone in a red vest as they would be able to help.  When we arrived in Atlanta and went to our standby gate we were numbers 26 and 27 on the standby list.  (Crap!!!)  We didn't want to spend the night in Atlanta (Delta wouldn't pay for a hotel because the delay was due to weather and they don't compensate you for weather delays.)  We found a very nice guy in a red vest and he told us to wait at the gate and not to give up hope we will make the flight.  Sure enough... our stand by number got closer and closer.  About 1 minute before they were going to close the gate we were called.  Looks like a lot of the other standby passengers found other ways home so we made the flight and got home around 1 am.

Meanwhile in Minnesota it was cold for end of August.  So thankful we were in Florida and Atlanta a little longer than expected.
