Summer Vacation August 2012 Part 1

Last week was our family vacation.  We headed out of town on Sunday after the Fireman Softball Tournament to Keisler's Campground in Waseca, MN.  We were excited to have some family time after such a busy summer.
All set-up and ready to go.  Our campsite was right across from the park, which was perfect for Kaitlyn to meet new friends.  Our spot had some great shade all day!

They had a great pool.  Kaitlyn and I went swimming on Monday while Gavin was napping.  She loved the slides and did a great job diving for rings.  I didn't get any pictures since I forgot our camera back at the campsite.

Pre-breakfast as daddy cooked omelets.  Donut Holes and Banana's.

Gavin eating yogurt with a spoon.  He did pretty well...

Focusing Hard on using his spoon.

He realized drinking the yogurt was much faster and easier.

All done!  That was yummy!!!

Monday we headed into Owatonna to do some shopping at Cabela's.  Kaitlyn and Gavin trying to convince us to buy a four wheeler.

Our original plan was to camp at Keisler's all week.  Monday night as Nate and I were sitting around the campground we realized that Kamp Dels was only 10 minutes away.  We decided that we would get up in the morning and check it out.

After our visit and tour of Kamp Dels.... we booked a campsite and moved.  At 11:30 am we left Kamp Dels to head back to Keisler's to pack-up and move.  By 1:30 pm we were all set-up at Kamp Dels until Friday.  Keisler's was a great campground, but they just didn't have a lot of activities during the week for kids.

Not too far from the pool and waterpark.

My work station!

I promised myself that I wouldn't work while on vacation.  I was proud of myself and didn't work, but I did have to do some of NPM Landscapes bookkeeping!  I didn't complain since I was outside and had a great view.
Kaitlyn getting ready to jump off the diving board for the first time.
Getting ready to jump!!!

Big splash as daddy was getting ready to catch.

Kaitlyn was a little fish all week.  She loved swimming without her water wings.  I guess swimming lessons is starting to pay off.

Trying the high diving board!  She wasn't even scared.

Daddy and Gavin in the pool.

The second day Kaitlyn convinced us that she didn't need water wings or her life jacket.  She jumped off the high dive with nothing and swam to the side of the pool all by herself!

This is what happened after she jumped while I was taking pictures.

Another signature pose by Kaitlyn!

One of the main reason's we moved campgrounds was because Kamp Dels has a lot to offer for activities for kids.  It was Easter week while we were there, so they had lots of fun games.  Tuesday they had craft time and made little bunny treats, Wednesday they had an Easter egg hunt and penny hunt, Thursday they had a treasure hunt all around the campground.  As a last minute decision before we left on vacation we decided to bring all the bikes and our bike carrier.  I am so glad we did.  Kamp Dels is very large.  They actually have 4 different areas for camping, 2 playgrounds, pool, water park, driving range, petting zoo, pony and horse rides, mini golf, and much more.

Deuce our favorite deer.

Silly calf!

Not only does Kamp Dels have a petting zoo they also have Elk and other Deer on the grounds.
Checking out the Elk!

The beautiful Elk with the water park in the distance.

The kids spent a lot of time riding in the bike carrier as Daddy pedaled around the campground.  Mommy had it easy by getting to bike by herself.

This was Gavin's favorite slide.  He kept going down the slide.

What Gavin looked like after playing at one of the parks.

Since this blog post is getting pretty long... I will continue our vacation on another blog post.
